Cart widget not working when product is added to cart

    Hi,

    The cart widget isn’t working when I add a product to the cart.

    I have display widget selected in Theme Settings > Shop > Shopping Cart Widget

    What else do i need to check?

    Please, switch to the parent theme temporarily and disable all external plugins. Let us know if the problem remains.

    Hello,

    I disabled all plugins and switched to the Woodmart parent theme and the shopping cart widget worked.

    I then reverted the site and switched to the Woodmart theme but left all the plugins active and the shopping cart widget still worked.

    Have i got an incorrect setting somewhere in my Woodmart child theme?

    Hello,

    By default, the child theme is empty, so if you have added some custom features, try to find and fix it.

    Hi,

    It was all working fine. But I’ve added quite a few customisations and broken it somewhere along the way.

    I’ve checked these settings:
    Theme Settings > Shop > SHOPPING CART WIDGET
    and
    Theme Settings > Single Product > ADD TO CART OPTIONS

    All looks OK (see uploaded screenshots) please can you give me some help where to look next?

    Anyway, if you have this problem with the child theme active you need to check all the custom PHP code added to your functions.php file or any other files in the child theme.

    I’ve checked the functions.php but I can’t see which bit might interfere with the cart widget?

    I’ve checked the functions.php against a backup version from when the cart widget worked and they are identical.

    There’s a header.php & footer.php in the child theme, but I haven’t directly edited any of these files. I just been using the Woodmart settings to customise the look and feel of the site.

    Is there any other setting that affects the cart widget flyout?

    You can try to restore header.php and footer.php from the parent theme to see if your changes there make any difference.

    I uploaded the parent theme header.php and footer.php. It was the footer.php that was causing the problem.

    I’ve backed up the version with the problem footer.php and will now proceed using the parent footer.php.
