ToriTori38ParticipantHello,
I would like to have the default WC Category text description above the category products and the woodmart “Extra Description” block below the category products. This must be possible to do with a snippet.
Unfortunately your “Category description position” theme setting applies to both the WC category description and the WD Extra Description. This would help us resolve some SEO issues we’re having right now
Can you help me with this? It would be greatly appreciated.

ToriTori38ParticipantUPDATE: I have seen I can get the default WC Category text description above the category product loop and the woodmart “Extra Description” block below the category product loop, but only on the Category pages (by setting “Category description position” in theme settings to Before Product Grid) . That all makes sense.
The problem with this is that it then positions our page builder elements on the shop page above the product grid loop. This really does not work. Our page builder elements need to be below the product category loop on our shop page.

ToriTori38ParticipantThe only option I see is to create a new page and call it “shop” which replaces the automatically generated WC shop page. I can then add shortcodes to this page to create the product loop and have the other page element below it.
Is that the quickest option?

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
If you haven’t created any Custom Category page layout under the Dashboard > Layout Builder then by selecting the Category Description position above Product Grid from Theme Settings and defining both Category Description and Extra Description, it previews like this: https://snipboard.io/csAyBo.jpg
If you have created and enabled the Custom Category Layout under the Dashboard > Layouts > then you can add the Archive description and Category extra description elements to your choice of position > then they will appear accordingly.
Please see the images for reference in this regard:

if your answer is “No” , please give me describe, how to create custom category layout?January 10, 2025 at 10:31 am #628715
Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Creating a custom category layout will not negatively affect your website’s ranking, provided it is implemented correctly. Search engine rankings are influenced by factors such as content quality, mobile-friendliness, and proper use of metadata.
Please consider using the Woocommerce builder of WoodMart allowing to create custom templates for product pages and other functional pages that are not editable by default. Woocommerce builder is the inbuilt functionality widget included in the builder you use on the site.
Please check this manual: https://xtemos.com/docs-cat/woocommerce-layouts-builder/?theme=woodmart
Best Regards
