Unable to make “aside” style dropdown work

Hello, I am trying to make the aside menu work however an issue occurs.
I am setting the categories menu to be in the dropdown to mimic the “Browse categories” dropdown functionality in a menu item, however the menu appears transparent and disappears when I try to hover over it. Seems like a bug.
I have first selected the HTML block in the dropdown menu and then switched to aside display.

Here is the url of the website, I am using the elementor mega menu widget from the theme. The desired functionality is the same as “Browse categories” or the Woodmart demo shop drop down (ss4).
