Hello dears,
Good day,

I have main image and gallery images set for the product type “Variable Product”,
The product has 1 attribute , 3 variations
Images are displayed fine in this case

Now I added 1 new attribute , and the total variations became 6

I added Image and Variation image Gallery for 3 of the variations and left the others using the default product images.

The Problem is :
On product page , when I choose new variation , images are displayed
But when I switch to variation that dont have images , only product image is overridden by the product default image , and the other images are displayed from previous selected vacations ! which is wrong

I tried to change “Data Storage method” and “AJAX variation threshold” but it did not work
could you please check ?

Hello,

By default, WooCommerce should show the images associated with the selected variation, and if a variation has no images, it should display the product’s default image.

Temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-three or Storefront. This will help you determine if the issue is related to our theme or not.

Thank you for your response,

I switched to storefront theme, the main image is switching as expected same as WoodMart Theme,
The problem is with variation gallery images which is not available in default themes ,
If a variation gallery contains 3 images , and the next vartian gallery contains 2 images , the second variation shows the third image from previously selected variation gallery , not from the default product gallery!

Could you please check the provided link in private content area in previous message?

Hello,

It is not an issue. If you upload the main image of the variation and upload the variation image it shows the only main image and variation image. You have used a similar image for variations. That’s why the same images were showing in variation. Now I have changed the images that are showing fine.

Check back your site after completely clearing the browser cache.

Hello Aizaz,

Let me explain in more details,
The default product has main image and 2 gallery images
3 of the variations have 1 main image and 2 gallery images
the other three variations images are not set , so they use the main and gallery images of the default product

Now , when the product page loads it shows the product main images
if I selected one of the first 3 variations (Ex. “M” “1-Pack” ) , their images are displayed correctly

BUT, selected on of the other 3 variations (Ex. “L” “1-Pack”) , which are using default images (variation images not set) . the problem appears here ! Main product page is changed only , gallery images are showing the previously selected variation gallery images (“M” “1-Pack”)

Could you please test this scenario ?

I uploaded a small video and a screenshot to explain more ,
in the video , notice that “6-Pack” variation gallery is using “3-Pack” gallery instead of the default product gallery,
The “6-Pack” does not have Image or Gallery set as shown in screenshot

You need to clear the previous preselected variation, and select the 6 pack variation it will shows the default gallery images:

But this is not the right behavior ! , it is not a good user experience !
