Blog Post Archive when “searching” doesn’t respect theme settings

My blog archive is defined as per certain settings like Post Except 0 Words (meaning I don’t want to show it at all). But when I make a search in the blog, it shows the results with Post Except that doesn’t respect the theme settings.
Why?

Sorry for the delay.
If you do not want to show it at all, you need to leave empty the “Excerpt length” field.

I tried as you said to leave it empty rather than 0, but I still have the same issue : post except still appears on blog archive when performing a search
