From login you are redirected to the backend

A strange thing happens on the checkout page, if the user gets the password wrong while trying to log in, he or she is redirected to the backend login page. Why does this happen? instead of just returning a wrong password error message?
This is not good for several reasons, 1. the user is taken away from the checkout page therefore more possible that he will not complete the purchase. 2. for security reasons.

Please make a full backup of your site and check how it works with some default WordPress themes like TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront to understand is it our theme issue or not?
