Sorry but there is no option in Theme Settings available for that.
It requires customizations and this is beyond our limitations and support policy.

In previous versions of this template it was possible to close the image viewer with the browser’s back button.

Unfortunately it is not possible to work in the way which you want. You need to click on the cross sign to close the image.
