Product image looks blurry even though it has enough resolution?

Although the product image has more than enough sharpness and resolution, it appears blurry. The identical image is shown in the second screenshot, where the difference in quality is evident. The image appears better when the magnifying effect is applied and you move the cursor over it. There are currently no installed image compression plugins. What could be the cause of this?
