bzzxzzParticipantI modified the product menu based on the template.
When I deleted a category, the product menu I had modified was also deleted.
How can I prevent this from happening?I want the product menu to be linked to product tags
(so that when a menu item is clicked, it redirects to a product collection with the corresponding tag).
I’m not sure how to set this up — I would really appreciate detailed step-by-step guidance.May 20, 2025 at 12:14 pm #661819
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
1. Most likely, the menu was linked to the categories so when you have removed it and menu is also removed.
2. Create a menu based on the product tags here – https://prnt.sc/4_qkZplR47QK (in Appearance -> Menus)
Let me know if you have any questions.
Kind Regards

bzzxzzParticipantThank you, I understand what you mean now.
However:
1. Is it possible to operate or make changes based on the original setup?
2. Following your method, I’m not sure how to set the image (I couldn’t find a way to set the image in the settings on my side). I hope to achieve the same effect as in the original template.

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
1. If you didn’t remove the default menu from import, you can change it for yourself.
2. Here is the ability to add an icon – https://prnt.sc/mdote2Ky6UrL , just after adding the tag item, resave the menu to see the additional fields.
Kind Regards

bzzxzzParticipantSorry, I’m still having trouble understanding.
1. If the original menu can be directly modified, I’d really appreciate it if you could tell me how — in detail. Thank you.
2. As for the method you provided for adding icons, I still couldn’t figure it out.
(The settings interface and content you sent me look completely different from what I actually see on my side, so I can’t follow the steps. I’m not sure what went wrong. Please take a look at the screenshot — it’s different from what you showed me.)May 22, 2025 at 7:58 pm #662630
bzzxzzParticipantJust to add a bit more:
It seems that the category and tag settings interfaces may have been confused.
The tag settings interface you sent me — on my side, it only appears under *Categories*. I’m not sure what went wrong.
Based on your explanation, I understand that you’re suggesting creating a new product tag in the menu.
But in the *Tag* settings, I couldn’t find a way to add an image.Or did you simply modify the original menu and change the *category* to a *tag*?
Because the settings interface shown in your screenshot looks the same as the one I see for *Categories*.Back to my original question:
All I want is to keep the original design of the template, while making the menu items link to their corresponding *tags*.
(This is my final goal.) -
