lampgeniusanalyticsParticipantHello,
I have an issue with the extra description section within the admin panel of the woocomerce category which I believe is the Woodmart theme which adds this?
Once I add internal links the link urls automatically start changing when clicked to other internal links urls in the same content.
For example you will see in the video the anchor text “bedside pendant lights” the url shows when clicked as bedside-pendant-lights/ then when you edit it says /pendant-lighting/. Once you scroll back up and then down it then goes back to /bedside-pendant-lights/. This is happening on all content which has internal links in the extra description field.
I have disabled all non essential plugins on a staging site and provided logins.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
I checked your site and noticed that in the extra description section, the link you added is https://wordpress-1410128-5812938.cloudwaysapps.com/bedside-pendant-lights/ , whereas the actual category link is
https://wordpress-1410128-5812938.cloudwaysapps.com/product-category/indoor-lighting/pendant-lighting/bedside-pendant-lights/ .The extra description field is part of the category editor, To fix this, please make sure you always insert the full and correct category URL when adding internal links, not just the shortened version. This way the links will remain stable and won’t switch when editing or scrolling.
You can get the correct category URL by going to Products > Categories in the WordPress dashboard, then hover over the category name, and you’ll see the correct link in the browser’s bottom-left corner.

lampgeniusanalyticsParticipantThanks for your reply.
It is just because it is a staging website. I use a plugin to remove the category folders from the url so it is just a base url. domain.com/category
The plugin is deactivated on the staging website which is why default urls show up however the issue still persists whether the plugin is activated or not. I have flushed permalinks also. You can login with the same credentials on the main website url in extra content.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
I’ve checked your site and edited the description. The link in the backend is showing as:
https://www.lampgenius.co.uk/bedside-pendant-lights/In the category description content, when I hover over the anchor text, it shows the same URL, and when I click on it, the link opens correctly as expected.

lampgeniusanalyticsParticipantHi Aizaz,
Yes the front end is okay however when you go to link below and edit the links they still change if you repeat the steps within my original video I sent from the staging website. You can see this on the live website. When we are adding / editing text the content people can’t keep track of links if the back end is not displaying the links correctly and changes every time you select them.

Are you able to see this happening on the link above when you edit and repeat the steps?

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
I have checked again, and the links are remaining the same, they are not changing on my side. Please try clearing your browser cache or CDN cache and check again. You can also test it in another browser to confirm how it works.
Best Regards,
