Hello,
The Free Gift feature only works with actual WooCommerce products — so the gift must be a published product in order to be selectable in the Free Gifts rule.
You can create the product normally, but hide it from the shop so customers cannot buy it.
Do this:
1. Create a product > Title: “Free Phone Case”
2. Set Catalog visibility to:
* Hidden (Shop only)
* This prevents it from appearing in the shop, search, or categories.
3. Set its price to 0 or any normal price (price doesn’t matter for free gift rules)
4. Publish the product
Now the product will not be visible to customers anywhere, but it will appear inside the Free Gifts selector.
Then create your free gift rule
Go to:
Theme Settings > Shop > Free Gifts > Enable
Then:
Dashboard > Products > Free Gifts >Add New
Choose:
1. Rule type: Automatic (or manual)
2. Free gifts: Select your hidden product “Free Phone Case”
3. Add your conditions and in this case your free gift product can be added automatically or manually from the Free Gifts system
