granule.petshopParticipantHello,
I am trying to add the Product Categories widget to the shop sidebar, but when I attempt this through Appearance → Widgets, I get the following error:
Error loading block: irregular parameters post_id
My goal is to display all product categories in the sidebar of the /shop/ page (/prodavnica/).
– How can I properly add all product categories to the shop sidebar?
– Does Woodmart provide a custom widget for this purpose?
– Ideally, I would like the categories to be shown in a hierarchical structure (categories → subcategories).Thank you for your help!
Best regards,
DejanAttachments:

Try to install the Classic Widgets plugin to fix this problem: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-widgets/

granule.petshopParticipantSuper, it displayed with the help of the “Classic Widget” plugin. I just have two additional questions:
How can I force the categories to be shown in the order I set, instead of alphabetically?
Does your widget that comes with the theme “Woodmart Product Category Filter”, or any other of your widgets, allow something like this: to display all main product categories, with the option to expand subcategories? And of course, for them to be arranged as in Products → Categories, not alphabetically?
Thanks,

In the widget settings, please select the option “Category order” under the sorting settings.
Then, you can change the display order of categories directly from your WordPress dashboard by going to:
Products > Categories, and dragging and dropping the categories into your preferred order.

granule.petshopParticipantOk, this helped.
I just have one more question regarding your Woodmart widget called “WOODMART Product Category Filter.” Can it display all parent categories? Specifically, if I have a product only in the subcategory “Dry Food for Dogs,” how can it show the parent categories Dogs → Food for Dogs (even if those parent categories are empty)? It seems to me that your widget is designed to only display categories that contain at least one product, regardless of whether they are subcategories or have parent categories above them. Is there any way your widget can display the hierarchy of parent categories?Thank you,
DejanJanuary 20, 2026 at 11:26 am #705221Hello,
In the WOODMART Product Category Filter widget:
With Filter Structure > Hierarchical, the widget only displays categories that contain products. Even if a parent category has subcategories with products, the parent itself won’t appear if it’s empty.
The “Show Children Only” option displays only subcategories, while Flat List shows all active categories in a flat structure — but empty parent categories still won’t appear.
Currently, there’s no built-in way to display empty parent categories in this widget.
If you want to show empty parent categories, use the default WooCommerce Product Categories widget in the sidebar and make sure to enable the option to show empty categories.
This will display the full hierarchy, including empty parent categories: https://ibb.co/LDyMfGvL
