Performance difference after updating from WoodMart 8.2.7

    Hello,

    We were using WoodMart 8.2.7 with the Games Dark template, and everything was working well and loading fast.

    We recently tested the latest version, but we noticed a very visible performance difference. The header and menu trigger open quickly, however the dropdown body/content appears with a delay afterward. This behavior did not exist on 8.2.7.

    Could you please let us know:

    What is causing this delay in the newer version?

    Is there any way to make the menu/dropdown behavior work like it did in 8.2.7?

    If this cannot be fixed, could you please provide a download link for a stable 8.2.x version, or another sub-version where this issue does not occur?

    We are considering rolling back to an older version if there is no reliable solution, because the difference is noticeable in real usage.

    If needed, we can also provide a screen recording and environment details.

    Can we install WoodMart 8.2.7 on your website so we can switch between versions and test how it works?

    We recorded a comparison video that includes both versions, the older fast-loading version and the newer version where the issue appears. Please see the attached video.

    To clarify the issue more precisely, this is not a dropdown problem.

    The main issue is that the header area loads quickly, but the page content appears later with a visible delay. This is especially noticeable on product pages. When opening a product page, the page title and header area appear quickly, but the main content below loads afterward with a delay.

    We did not have this behavior when using WoodMart 8.2.7 with the Games Dark template. We only noticed it after testing the newer version.

    Also, if there is no way to make the newer version behave like 8.2.7, please let us know which older stable version you recommend, or provide a download link for a version where this issue does not happen.

    Yes, you can install WoodMart 8.2.7 on our website for testing and switch between versions to compare the behavior.

    It turns out this was not actually a version-related issue.

    We found the real cause of the issue.

    The problem was related to displaying grouped products through the Products (grid or carousel) element. It was affecting the performance of the whole site. On average, rendering just one grouped product was adding around 100 to 200 database queries. Since several grouped products were also displayed across the site, including in the header, the total query count was reaching around 1400 queries.

    The number of queries was also heavily affected by:

    how many child products existed inside each grouped product

    how many variations those child products had

    As a temporary workaround, I disabled the display of prices and sale discounts for grouped products, and this reduced the total query count from around 1400-1200 to 300. After that, the site started working fast again.

    Could you please review this properly on your side and provide a healthier fix or a patch for it?

    Hello,

    We need to test this both with WoodMart and default theme to see if these queries are related to the theme itself. Most likely, they come from WooCommerce plugin.
    Can you send us your actual admin access so we can check this?
