Is there a way to automatically generate a post excerpt from the first sentences of the content?
I’m wondering if WordPress allows you to set excerpts so they’re created automatically from the beginning of each post. I’d love to avoid adding the excerpt manually every single time.
Yes, this is already possible by default in WordPress.
If you don’t manually add an excerpt, WordPress will automatically generate one from the beginning of the post content. So in most cases, you don’t need to do anything extra.
Navigate to Theme Settings > Blog > Blog Archive > Posts Excerpt and select Excerpt. You can also set the Excerpt length there to control how many words are shown.
