Technically, it is not possible to transfer one shortcode to another in WordPress. That is why this process can be done manually only.
And we don’t deprecate anything just to make problems for our clients. We have to do this in order to optimize our theme performance and usability.
Anyway, it is not correct about this element that it will not be maintained. We will keep supporting this element and will never remove it in the future.
