Button to hide/show shop filter's widget / custom block above products

I’d like to edit the shop page so that the user can show/hide the filters widget on the shop page as in the example screenshots I have attached.

I can see where to enable the shop filters, but if if set “Shop filters area always opened” to “Off”, then the filter never appears, and there is no button to make it do so.

How can I do this?
