    Hello,
I’d like to use a Basel theme slider on my website.
I’ve created a test one that you can see here: https://www.modelight.co.uk/warranties/
The images are 2000x1333px. I’d like these sliders to fit my laptop/desktop screens, like on the below example page. The pictures on the example page are the same size as on mine.
    Example page: https://www.taylorhowes.co.uk/
    Could you help?

    Hello,

You need to disable “Header above the content” in the Theme Settings > Header and make the row full-height.

In addition, you need to make the header transparent in the Theme Settings > Header > Appearance.

If you have any questions or need further help, please feel free to contact us.

    Best Regards

    Hi Elise,

I disabled “Header above the content” – https://prnt.sc/172mb0u
I set the row full height: https://prnt.sc/172izne
    I made the header transparent
It still doesn’t make the slider to fit the browser screen. It looks like this – https://prnt.sc/172jsk3

Also when I added a mobile picture it created some conflict. I mean it showed two pictures, one on the top of another – https://prnt.sc/172npvg

Now you can see the slider on the homepage http://www.modelight.co.uk (I enabled “Header above the content” and removed transparency for now)

    Could you advice further?

    Hello,

Please, provide your site admin access to the private area.

Please confirm the permit for us to deactivate the plugins not related to the theme and switch to the parent theme for the while of checking what may take up to 15 minutes. Please make the full backup of your site.

    Best Regards

    I confirm the permit.

    Hello,

The slider is full width and full height not, you need to remove the background color from the header. Please remove the color in the Theme settings > Header > Appearance.

    Best Regards

    Hi Elise,

“you need to remove the background color from the header. Please remove the color in the Theme settings > Header > Appearance” – Yes, I understand, and this woks well, so this one is sorted.

“The slider is full width and full height not” – when I tick “full height row” in WP Bakery there’s no change in the way the slider looks in frontend.

When I gave you the example page (https://www.taylorhowes.co.uk) and asked about your help, I wanted the same slider behaviour.

    I mean:
    – when you’re on the example homepage you see the slider that fits the screen perfectly – when you start scrolling down, you immediately see the content.
    – when you’re on my homepage you see the 3/4 of the slider – when you start scrolling down, you reveal the rest of the slider and then you see the content.

    PS
The images on in my slider and example page slider are the same size 2000x 1333px.

Could you help me to fit the slider to the height of the screen?

    Hello,

Please check now. I removed the color.

    Best Regards

    Hi Elise,

I know how to remove the background colour from the header and what it does. It reveals the part of the slider that is under the header.

However, the thing I want to sort out is the slider itself.

I’ll try to explain the issue once again.

I want the slider to fit the size of the screen. I’ve attached the picture I want to use in the slider for you to see that when you open my homepage the slider shows only 3/4 of the picture (I’m not concerned about what’s under the header and its transparency at the moment, I’m concerned about the bottom part, that you have to scroll down to see the full picture). Please tell me if there’s something else I need to explain.

That’s how my homepage looks after entering my website – https://prnt.sc/18151it

And now see the attached picture I’ve used for the slider.

Is it possible to fit the slider to the screen?

    Hello,

Now I see you are talking about an image and not a slider.

    1. Remove the image from the Promo banner.

    2. Remove the size from Image size inside the Promo banner 2000×1333

    3. Set the featured image to each slide. Check is that what you need?

    Best Regards

    Hi Elise,
In relation to the above, could you tell me how to add text that would appear on the image, and would be responsive on different devices?

    Hello,

As soon as you set the featured image on the slider, then you create the template with the builder as per your needs, please use Responsive text block element where you find the option to see the font size for different devices. https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/shortcodes/

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

    Thanks, Elise

    It works.

I’ve got one more question in relation to a featured image.

How to link a featured image to a product page?

    Best,
    Dariusz

    #328691

    Hello,

Unfortunately, there is no option to assign the link to a slide, you can try using the Promo banner without background as a workaround.

    Thanks, Elise

I’ve got one more question in relation to the theme.

I’ve got the theme support till January 2022. I’d like to ask you about the theme updates. Will I get the theme updated whenever there is an update, after January 2022?

    Best,
    Dariusz

    Hello,

You have purchased the license for the theme and paid for the support separately. The theme license is lifetime and you will be able to update the theme even after your support expires.

As soon as the support expires, you will not be able to contact us here for help. You can renew the support at any time.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

    Best Regards
