myobstaclesParticipantHi Xtemos support team,
I just updated to 5.0 after wp health check adviced me to do so.
I did not make a back-up.
After the update, the whole website was messed up. It took back default settings or something.
For sure all the Custom CSS i made in the Theme Settings are gone.
I checked this forum and found https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/faq-guides-2/4-x-5-0-migration-guide/
Since i already updated i performed step 3 4 an 5.
no luck…Please tell me you can help me get my settings, css, etc back. I especially had to extend my license for this…
Looking forward for you reply.

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Please contact your host support and find out if there is an automatic backup of your site, if there is, please take and restore your site.
Then take all the Custom CSS and insert in the Theme Settings > Custom CSS and then try to update following all the suggestions in https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/faq-guides-2/4-x-5-0-migration-guide/
If you have not the backup, update all the plugins not related to the theme.
Best Regards

myobstaclesParticipantwhere should i be able to find all these Custom CSS?
I’m not even able to open Theme Settings?? (it is not available in the menu)October 8, 2019 at 9:30 am #149044
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Please restore the site from the backup. You should have your site not the default Basel and provide your site admin access.

myobstaclesParticipantOk, I just restored the site with a back-up from 3 okt.
And I gave you administrator rights in the private Content of this comment. Please note that on the 3rd of October I had an issue: for some reason i was not able to install plug-ins. To fix that i needed to add ‘define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_MODS’, false);’ to wp-config.php
After i restored the back-up of 3rd of october i did not do that yet.October 8, 2019 at 1:52 pm #149110
myobstaclesParticipantNot sure if you already did something. But my website is looking normal again. Maybe it was a cache thing after the update?
Shall i now try to update to 5.0 again?

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Export the theme settings https://gyazo.com/c2adf61f37d32201b5902496df31a5df and try again, follow the instructions provided here https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/faq-guides-2/4-x-5-0-migration-guide/
Then update the plugins related to the theme and clean all the cache.

myobstaclesParticipantHi Elise,
I made a back-up and updated the theme.
Right after the update, everything looked still fine.
I executed the other steps from the instructions anyway.
I think something went wrong the first time i tried the update.
So my website is all good again.
Thanks for the support! ticket can be closed.
