Variations images not shown if product has only 1 product image

Can you please check the video in private?
You will see that if a variable product contains only 1 image at product level (meaning no images added in the product-level additional images gallery), then the images by your theme feature at the variations-level aren’t being displayed when selected.
This is a bug. We should not be forced to add additional images at product-level to display additional images at variation-level.

Yes, this gallery REPLACES the images from the default thumbnails gallery. So if there are not any default images then the carousel is not initiated from the beginning and there is nothing to replace. So if you want to use extra images galleries then default gallery images are required.

Just want to add that the feature suggested by topicstarter is highly needed. The way it is made now just doesn’t make sense.
Thank you for the suggestion. But currently, technically it is not possible to implement. We will consider finding some workaround in the future.
