    Hello,

I tried to install my website on Google Search Console. However, it has linked more than 60 000 url. When I check the sitemap, I see thousands of articles that were here previously and that are not available on my products list.
I think they belong to the theme woodmart.
How can I delete all of them. I am pretty sure that they will disturb my SEO strategy a lot.

    Hello,

That were not only articles but images as well. You need to delete the demo you do not use, then you need to clear the URLs in the Google console.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

    Best Regards

Yes I already did it but this Google Search audit happened after I deleted the basics.

It is more like hidden files. Because I cannot root them from my website.

There are mostly in a “http” form.

    Hello,

We have checked your sitemap and see that those articles are not related to our dummy content. We don’t know how they were added to your sitemap. The sitemap is not a default WordPress feature and probably it was added to your website with the help of some plugin installed. You need to regenerate it now to make sure that it doesn’t contain any articles not related to your website.

    Kind Regards

    Thanks for you reply.
How can I regenerate it ? Should I uninstall the theme ? Or delete everything ?
If it is due to a plugin, should I delete all of them ?

Sorry, but we don’t know how this file was generated. It has no relation to our theme at all. You can completely delete that file and create a new one with a help of some plugin like Yoast SEO.

    Kind Regards

Can you please show me in video. I deleted the file “sitemap.xml” on my wordpress files and now even with yoast SEO it does not work anymore because it is sending me to an error 404 page every time I click on one of the sitemap link.

Please, refer to the plugin documentation for help https://yoast.com/help/xml-sitemaps-in-the-wordpress-seo-plugin/
We don’t have a video tutorial for this, unfortunately.
