Product image thumbnail on catalog (product category) page

Hello,
The featured image I have selected as main product image (which also sets the thumbnail image on the catalog page) is not displayed fully on the catalog page. When I view the products on the catalog page, the image doesn’t fit the thumbnail size and gets cut off. How can I make the product thumbnails on the catalog page to automatically fit (i.e. full image, only smaller so that it fits within the thumbnail)?

Basically the product images are controlled by woocommerce and our theme doesn’t influence this. WooCommerce Allows some settings that you can find under Appearance >> Customize >> WooCommerce >> Product Images.
