After we looked into the situation, we found the issue resulted from the “AJAX variation threshold” option that has a very high value (https://prnt.sc/26cg68n).

To be able to get rid of that issue, you need to set the “30” value for the “AJAX variation threshold” option in Theme Settings -> Single Products -> Images.
