Hello, I created a page with the post grid element (screenshot 1). All posts of the category “Events” are displayed on this page. (The settings for the post grid element are on screenshot 3.) But when I click for example on the 2nd post the post navigation there does not work as it should (see screenshot 2). The arrows show posts from different categories than “Events” and the “back to list” button reloads the page.

    Hello,

This is how it works by default. The centre button leads back to the blog page and the previous and next buttons only work for the next previous posts added in the posts in the Dashboards.

Hello, okay, I thought the screenshots would explain enough, but step by step: On the events page only posts with the category “events” are displayed. The user clicks on one of them, reads the article, scrolls down to the navigation and hovers with the mouse over the button in the middle. The tooltip says “back to list”. Of course the user assumes he will get back to the events list he has seen before. He clicks the button but the page just reloads.
Looking at the code the div that contains the button has a class “back to archive”. The tooltip says “Zurück zur Liste” (back to list). And the button looks like a miniature of a list. But it´s a button to reload the page…. This is a very weird behaviour by default and probably for everybody it simply looks like a mistake.

Then the user clicks on the left arrow hoping to see the next event-article. But the article is a completely different one and has nothing to do with events. The same happens when he clicks on the right arrow. Also this looks very much like a mistake and is good to frustrate the users o our page.

    Best regards

    Hello,

The back to list button is linked with the wordpress posts page. You need to set the post page from Settings to make the button work.

Please read the following article for help:
    https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-a-separate-page-for-blog-posts-in-wordpress/

And the navigation works the same by default and there is no option in Theme Settings to change the behaviour.

Hello, the article refers to the standard blog page and recommends to buy the SeedPro theme builder to create a customized blog page. On my events page I use the post grid element. I can choose a post category to display and a design. More customization I don´t need. This is working fine – only the post navigation is not working. The same problem with the theme blog element.
On your demo pages the post navigation is working fine without the SeedPro theme builder.

    Hello,

In our demos we are using the blog as a page not using the theme blog element.

I am not suggesting you use seedprod. I suggested you create a page and set it as the blog page from Settings >> Discussion.

Then the back to list button will work. And the post navigation works for all the blogs you cannot limit them to a single category.

Sorry that is not true. I attach 3 screenshots of the use of your theme blog element in your demo. The post navigation is working there and the back to list button is linked with the correct page.
Please explain how to make this work in my webpage.

Hello, no, it is not working. When I click on an article on the events page and then I click on the back to list button I get a page named blog that you created but not the events page.
Please show me how to get back to the page how to set up the navigation that it works like in your demo blog created with your blog element.

    Hello,

The posts navigation on the single post page works with the blog globally. Unfortunately, it is not possible for the list button to get you to your custom page. Only to the page that is set as a blog in your WordPress settings.

    Kind Regards
