asy1mpoParticipantHi
Like many, I am getting the BAD_FORMAT error message when trying to update a theme.
The full error message is –
Update failed: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature
Currently the web site has version 6.1.3 of Woodmart theme. The web site was built/setup by someone else but I am talking over management of it. I have just now purchased new license for it so have the purchase code.
The previous person who worked on the site has some sort of membership which means they can purchase as many themes as they want. So they did not have a purchase code.
I followed the instructions on your site and deactivated the license, re-added it and then tried to update again. I did this but still get the BAD_FORMAT error.
One thing I have noticed which is odd is when I go to the Theme License section and click Deactivate Theme. It looks OK and has space for me to update purchase code. However, if I refresh the browser (before entering anything in), the Deactivate Theme button is back – so as if I did not press Deactivate??? Something a bit odd.
Is it possible to manually upload the theme files? I did do a quick try and uploaded the theme WordPress files by FTP and activated this theme. But then it ended up changing the website – maybe because it did not have any configuration??

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Try to do the following to update the theme:
1. Go to Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Theme License and deactivate the theme.
2. Go to Dashboard -> Updates and click on Check Again.
3. Activate the theme with your purchase code again.
4. Go to Dashboard -> Updates and click on Check Again.
5. Try to update the theme via Appearance -> Themes or via Dashboard -> Updates.
Best Regards

asy1mpoParticipantHi
This is what I have already tried. I did mention this in my post that I did try the whole deactivating, trying to activate again.
One thing I did also mention though was when I deactivated the theme, one thing I did try was just refresh the browser at that point and it said was it activated – so as if I did nothing.
Maybe its a caching related thing?
Is there any way to update theme manually?

asy1mpoParticipantOK. I have managed to update it. I did turn off all caching related things so that maybe have helped??
Anyway, thanks for your help.
