After updating WoodMart to latest version (v.7.0.0), loading speed and performance were reduced. Using PageSpeed Insights I found that “Eliminate performance-blocking resources” is full of css parts coming from the theme. The two screenshots below (before and after the update) were taken while all other plugins were disabled.

The only plugins that are enabled are those that the core theme uses:
    – WPBakery
    – Woodmart Core
    – Slider Revolution
    – WooCommerce
    – Contact Form 7
    – MailChimp for WordPress

These plugins are also updated. The WordPress version is also the latest one. Cache has been disabled (WP Rocket).

The rendering blocking issues appear like this:

    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/base.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/widget-tag-cloud.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/widget-wd-recent-posts.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/widget-nav.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/woo-widget-wd-layered-nav.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/woo-mod-swatches-base.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/woo-mod-swatches-filter.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/woo-widget-product-cat.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/woo-widget-product-list.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/woo-widget-slider-price-filter.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/int-wpcf7.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/int-mc4wp.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/int-rev-slider.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/base-deprecated.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/int-wpb-base.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/woo-opt-sticky-notices.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/woocommerce-base.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/mod-star-rating.min.css?ver=7.0.0
    wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/woo-el-track-order.min.css?ver=7.0.0

    etc etc

How do I fix this? No matter how I tried, I get the same results after updating the Woodmart theme

    Hello,

Each CSS part from your screenshot is loaded because of specific elements you use on your home page. Maybe you didn’t use some of them before so that is why they were not loaded before the update. But all these files were a part of the theme in our 6.5 version too.

    Kind Regards

No changes were made on the home page though. The same issue goes for other pages of the website as well (Blog for example). I get the same results even at Contact page, which has nothing more than a contact form and google maps. You can check it here.

If you want, we can send you the previous version of the theme so you can install them both and compare how works. Send us your email so we can provide you with WoodMart 6.5.4 archive.

    Kind Regards

We already have previous version (v 6.5.4). There are no problems with the previous version.
You can see there were no problems, here:
    https://prnt.sc/PQTSDdBp3Y8F

After we updated to new version (v.7.0.0) we got these issues:
    https://prnt.sc/WB7Iu7MWDSnt

It is not normal to get all these issues after an update, specially since there were no changes on the pages.
Or even the contact page, were there’s no need for all that css to load.

So, what do we need to do in order to keep the latest version and not get these issues?

Could you please send us access to your website where both versions are installed so we can compare how they work?

    Kind Regards

    Hello,

Your old website is running 5.2 version and not 6.5.4. That version had only one CSS file that contains all theme’s styles which is bad for performance.

    Kind Regards
