Hi, I was wondering if you have any suggestion about a better page layout for grouped products?
I have a book series for each decade e.g. 1960, 1961, 1962 etc…to 1969 and need to group them, but the list is a mile long and I was wondering if there is any workaround for a better layout for grouped items? Even if I made the thumbnails smaller and square and reduced the padding, the list is still really long and not so user friendly.
Is there any way it could be like a two-columned accordion or grid layout to avoid all the scrolling?
Since I need to do each year in each decade 1950s. 1960s. 1970s. 1980s. 1990s-….so all up 50 or so books grouped by decade, do you have a suggestion here? Could these products be in tabs per decade or something like this? Not sure what’s doable with these kinds of long grouped products.

I hope there might be a good solution.
Many thanks in advance for great support.

    Hello,

Please consider WooCommerce layouts builder https://xtemos.com/docs-cat/woocommerce-layouts-builder/?theme=woodmart

This builder allows you to create custom templates for Woocommerce functional pages.

Hi, thanks for the fast reply.

In the set up the books that belong to the grouped product are hidden from search and catalogue so only the grouped product shows on the front end, then when you click on that, all the products show up there on the grouped product.

For the grouped product layout type I’ve chosen single product as the other ones Products archive, Cart and Checkout don’t really fit here. I’ve assumed that the group product is still a single product with it’s own ID, so that’s why I chose it. Or should I have chosen something like products archive so I can get a grid layout?

Then I’ve selected Product type > Grouped product then added some of the books that belong to that product with their own ID, but I don’t see anything come up, when I try to preview it. Have I chosen the wrong type of layout?

Have attached two screenshots of what I see…
    Thanks again for your help.

Hi, thank you! I’ve put in the site access under private content. I haven’t yet switched to the new update of Woodmart + core yet. Came up with an error, so need to manually upload the folder etc. so will look into it in the coming weeks.

    Hello,

It seems you have provided limited access, I cannot get to the Products to all.

Please check and provide full access.

Hi, I’m sorry I had to show the client so hid that one since it wasn’t set up properly.

I’ve opened all the 1950s series up (so all are visible in search and catalogue) and published.
The grouped product is Ă…ret 1950-1959 (published).

I’ve put a password on the website (without admin login…maybe it is being indexed by Google even though I asked it not to!)

Have put the details in private content. My apologies again!
Many thanks for the great support.

Hi Elise, sorry about the late reply. Website got hacked by malware from an update in the Revolution Slider plugin and took a long time to fix and get back up and running and lost some motivation. Is there any alternative to Revolution Slider I can use, am afraid to install it again straight from WordPress in case things go wrong again. Do you have any other suggestions for another slider which is compatible with Woodmart/Elementor?

I’ve included the details below for the grouped product. (please feel free to make a new layout or do anything. I couldn’t seem to get it to work or change the layout from the normal product layout, which is not what I’m after).

Many thanks for your help and apologies again for the long delay.

    Hello,

Yes, we can offer WoodMart slider provided with the theme. You can create the slides with the builder you use on the site. It is absolutely safe.

I am a bit surprised you have a problem with the Slider Revolution. Did you install it from Appearance > Install plugins, if you did, the Slider Revolution could not cause the problem? It is clear there.

WoodMart slider is much easier and does not increase the site loading time. At the same time, if you ant complicated animation such Slider Revolution has, you would better use it.

In any case please check this manual: https://xtemos.com/docs-cat/woodmart-slider/?theme=woodmart

Let us know if you need any help with the slider.

I’ll try the other slider. Thanks…but I see it only shows WP Bakery. Assume it’s similar in Elementor.

I digressed a bit and hope there’s still a solution for the grouped product page set up and the conditions didn’t seem to work either. Am struggling here with all this unfortunately.

I’ve put in the login details below.
    Thanks again.

    Hello,

When I check a grouped product, it is actually a single product. Your product type would be better presented by a single product and other products can be shown by Frequently bought products. Please check this manual and demo: https://woodmart.xtemos.com/accessories/product/iphone-12-pro-moment-case-olive/ and https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/frequently-bought-together/

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

That doesn’t solve the problem. I already have a single product layout (for normal books that aren’t grouped). When I tried to make a grouped product the layout is ugly (this was the original problem in the first thread at the top we’ve been trying to solve – a more user-friendly layout for grouped products). it looks ok on mobiles as people scroll downloads, but looks ugly on desktop and doesn’t work to have to scroll a mile down the page) I don’t want other one product and Frequently Bought Products, this is not the same thing as a grouped product with things that belong to this grouped product.

The problem is that there are 50 books here. 10 need to be grouped under each decade, ie. a grouped product = 1950-1959 with some thumbnail/book cover to cover all these. (Then single books 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958 and 1959) as products that are grouped to the grouped product 1950-1959.

It’s not that the functionality doesn’t work. As originally mentioned, it’s the layout that’s ugly and not very user friendly on desktops.

    Hello,

I am afraid I have suggested all the options we have. Perhaps you can find a plugin influencing a gripped product.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
