Portfolio is registered as a Page – User Role Editor
-
Hi, we give customers access to their websites, but with limited capabilities. We have discovered that for the client to edit/create portfolio/projects they have to have the permission to edit pages. Is it possible to change this. Often we wish only to grant access to posts and portfolio/projects, and do not want them to have access to pages.
Hello,
Sorry to say but we can’t seem to understand your concern related to your Portfolio. What exactly are you referring to related to Portfolio, can you please elaborate it more with an image or video so that we can better understand & assist you accordingly? Also, please mention the exact Page URL too.
Best Regards.
We want to give a user with the role “Editor” access to add/edit portfolio posts, however we do not want to give access to edit pages.
We had both our admin and an editor user logged in at the same time and was using User Role Editor to edit permissions and check in real time. It wasn’t until we gave permission to edit pages that the Portfolio option was added to the dashboard of the editor user.
URL shouldn’t be important at this point as it is a general question about required permissions and capabilities needed to see the portfolio post type option in the admin dashboard.

Hello,
Actually, your concern is specifically related to WordPress not the Theme because the Users and their Roles are the functionalities provided by the WordPress itself.
So, to know more about the User Roles and their functionalities, please check out the following WordPress Guide: https://wordpress.org/support/article/roles-and-capabilities
Hope this helps !
Best Regards
