Extra content block issue

francoisParticipantHi, I’ve created a bunch of HTML blocks and I can’t seem to find them in the ‘Extra content block’ dropdown on the product page. The dropdown only seems to display the latest five HTML blocks and doesn’t let me search for more.

I have found that you are using the old version of the theme. Please update the theme to the latest Woodmart 7.0.3 version and update all the theme plugins as well. I am sure your issue will be solved.

francoisParticipantFor anyone else who can’t update their theme due to the ‘ PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature’ problem, this worked for me:
1. Go to Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Theme License and deactivate the theme.
2. Go to Dashboard -> Updates and click on the “Check Again” button.
3. Activate the theme with your purchase code again.
4. Try to update the theme via Appearance -> Themes or via Dashboard -> Updates.October 23, 2022 at 7:50 am #415924

Sorry for the inconvenience regarding the actual concern of Extra Block Content but actually, according to the default working of the dropdown here is that when you try to select from the dropdown, the pre-suggested results of the dropdown actually only shows the latest 5 Blocks created. If you want to select a Block other than the shown ones then you need to write down their names there at least first 4 letters and then it will show those Blocks too for the selection. So, it’s not an issue we suppose but a slightly different bit of working of the dropdown here.

Sorry for earlier misunderstanding and further clarity regarding the issue.
We have now further checked this issue on your Site and found out that a third party Plugin named “JetPack” was causing the conflict in this regard. When we deactivated that and then searched for the other Blocks there under the Layout, it was showing fine: https://ibb.co/2tTNDdJ
So, there might be some Settings of the JetPack plugin that might be causing the conflict for which you can contact the respective Plugin Support as this a third party Plugin conflict not an issue at the Theme level.

In the last attachment I sent you, you’ll see that I was trying to add HTML block ‘CALCULATED_FIELDS id 20’. When I type ‘CALCULATED_FIELDS id 20’ in the search field, ‘CALCULATED_FIELDS id 23’ to ‘CALCULATED_FIELDS id 27’ are displayed. I am therefore unable to see or select ‘CALCULATED_FIELDS id 20’ or any other HTML Block starting with the name ‘CALCULATED_FIELDS’.

Sorry to say but we have again checked this concern on your Site, the other Blocks under the Dashboard >> HTML Blocks on your Site are appearing correctly to select. Specifically, the older Calculation Fields Blocks are not showing to select and as we are seeing they seem to be coming through a third party Plugin “Calculated Fields Form”. Can you please try contacting the respective Plugin Support in this regard and see what they have to say about this? Because we can’t seem to find any issue at the Theme level in this regard due to the fact that the other HTML Blocks are appearing there to select.

The Calculation Fields Blocks were not generated via a plugin – I created them manually.
I have just created 10 new dummy HTML blocks: TEST_HTML_BLOCK id 1 – TEST_HTML_BLOCK id 10.
I first created the blocks and published them, without adding any content. After doing this, I was able to search for and see the blocks in the product ‘Extra content block’ field.
I then added content to each block (Edit with Elementor) and added a single element to each block.
After doing this, I once again could only view the latest five blocks created and couldn’t search for “older” TEST_HTML_BLOCK blocks.
This is therefore not an issue with my Calculated Fields Form plugin.
Forgive me, but I feel like you’re skimming over my issue without testing it properly. I’m pretty sure that if you create 10 blocks with similar names, as I have, and edit each one in Elementor, you will experience what I am experiencing.

francoisParticipantI’ve just renamed my CALCULATED_FIELDS HTML Blocks to semi-snake_case, by replacing spaces with an underscore character, e.g. ‘CALCULATED_FIELDS id 1’ to ‘CALCULATED_FIELDS_id_1’. I am now able to search for and view all CALCULATED_FIELDS HTML Blocks in the ‘Extra content block’ field.

The issue might be happening because of the Id words with numbers as your Block Name (just like you mentioned) because as you know the Blocks themselves have the IDs that are automatically generated after their creation. So, this can be a reason for this.
