some of the menu in categories disappear

there are two issues as following
1. some of the menus of categories (browse categories) on the homepage disappear (it has happened from time to time).
2. there is a white gap between slides

1. This menu can be managed via Appearance -> Menus. We can’t know why some items disappear. Maybe someone removes them from the menu.
2. Where we can see this white gap?
