Hello,

The thing is that the post has its own “Excerpt” area, so when some text is defined there, then it will be shown on the grid. If you want to enable the “Excerpt” from Theme Settings, you need to clear that area from the settings of the post, more detail in the below screenshot.

for posts that go out of scope, have you edited the amount of text in the excerpt area?
