I want to amend the state field but I am at my wits end.
Thanks to a plug-in, I managed to rename it to governorate *yay* but nothing is working to make it required. I have set the required option in the plug-in, I have added custom css… all in vain. I need to have it required for the shipping rates.
The second, and most probably even more complicated problem I am facing is that I need to amend the drop-down list of governorates that is automatically set by the country selection (whyever, I haven’t done so). I specifically need to add some cities to it because they have different shipment costs (adding seperates zones with pre-defined ZIP codes is not possible because ZIPs are not regularly used or known here).

    Hello,

You can translate/rewrite all theme and plugin texts via PO file in WordPress. Here is a video tutorial that should help you translate your website texts with a Loco Translate plugin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3NsDdMzsls&list=PLMw6W4rAaOgKKv0oexGHzpWBg1imvrval&index=3

Please check the video tutorial to see how to save the translation file correctly. You can remove the plugin and translations would remain. Also, translations would remain after each theme update.

In order to translate the WooCommerce strings, you need to create a separate translation in Loco > Plugins > WooCommerce in the same way as shown in the video.

    Best Regards

Hi Elise, thanks for your reply but that’s not what I’ve asked. I mainly have two problems and I assume that the first one is a kind of bug in your theme. The billing and shipping field of state are not required and there is no way to set them as this. I have tried two different plug-ins and custom css but nothing is working. Since I definitely need this info from the customer for the shiping cost calculation, I need to know where exactly in the php files I can set the required to true.

My second problem is that I will need additional cities in the drop down list of ‘state’ due to different shipping costs and I’d appreciate an info where I can amend this list that automatically appeared. TIA

    Hello,

Please make the full backup of your site and check the issue on the Storefront theme to detect if our theme causes the problem. Storefront is a free theme developed by WooСommerce.

Please provide the screens on the WoodMart and on the Storefront.

    Best Regards

Sorry, but I won’t risk any further problems by switching the theme now. Please provide another solution. TIA

    Hello,

The issues you describe relate to Woocommerce not to the WoodMart theme. WoodMart theme does not have the option to change what you need. You will need to find the plugins to achieve the purpose.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

    Best Regards
