Do I need to activate the theme license?

Hello,
Just bought the theme and I firstly tried to change basic stuff like the logo or the format of the header. I press Save but nothing’s actually changed when I visit the website. Is this because I haven’t activated my purchase code (even though it says Optional)?

Choose the proper header type (your current) http://prntscr.com/iyd333
Modify elements as per your needs: http://prntscr.com/iyd3h3
Take into consideration that there is also the mobile view of your header http://prntscr.com/iyd3v3 check all the elements there.

However, this seems quite limited. Shouldn’t I be able to make the customization I desire in the sub-dashboard (please see a print screen attached)??
If I change anything in that sub-dashbord, it doesn’t do anything.

Yes, you are right. When Header Builder has been activated, setting in Theme Settings > Header are not in force. If you want to have initials header you will need to deactivate Heade Builder, at the same time, take into consideration that deactivating Header Builder will reduce flexibility and options variety.
