    Hi there

For legal reasons, the copyright information must be placed under images. Unfortunately, I don’t see a function to display the captions anywhere in the image gallery. I use the image gallery from Woodmart with Masonry Grid. There is only the function to display the image name in the lightbox. (https://nimb.ws/R3SIHk9) But usually copyright notices are stored in the captions. Can this somehow be displayed in addition or instead of the title?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Best, Fletsch

    Hello,

If you are using the WoodMart Gallery widget, you can see the image caption in the lightbox. There is no option in this widget to place the caption under the widget.

If you want to keep the image caption under the image, you need to use the “basic gallery” widget to achieve this.

    Best Regards.

    Hi Aizaz

Unfortunatelly it is not the caption. It’s the image title that gets displayed in the lightbox. But copyright informations are usually stored in the caption field. So I need to display either title and caption or only caption. Is there a hook or something to achieve this?

    Best regards,

Hi Aizaz, thanks for your answer.

Would be great if the Lightbox would show image titel and caption on a second line. The caption with copyright information is especially important for legal reasons in the European market.

I found this older post with the same topic. Is there such a workaround for Visual Composer too? Unfortunatelly I couldn’t find the location in the files. https://xtemos.com/forums/topic/gallery-lightbox-caption/

I use WP Backery not Elementor on my site, that’s why I asked for a solution for Visual Composer (WP Backery).

    Hello,

Use the Images Gallery widget in the WPbakery widget and enable the option “Images Caption”.
    See Screenshot for better understanding:

    Hi Aizaz

Sorry but do you actually read the posts? You might need to use a better translation program, because almost every time I get an answer that misses the point. That’s really sad. I can recommend: https://www.deepl.com

As you can see here I already have captions active: https://nimb.ws/hVb7CD2

The problem is that the gallery only shows the image title but not the caption. The plugin incorrectly says caption but it is actually the title. As you can see in the following screenshot, there are different fields in WordPress: https://nimb.ws/irnF3W6

Caption normally stores the image rights and should be displayed in addition to the title. In the European market, this is even required by law. Or if it’s not possible to show both then better use the caption field so store operators can put in title and copyright information there.

In the other post I mentioned, exactly this problem is dealt with and there is a workaround for Elementor: https://xtemos.com/forums/topic/gallery-lightbox-caption/ (you’ve read it’?) I would need such a workaround to display the real captions in the WP Bakery gallery as well.

It would be great if you could fix this issue in the next update anyway, because otherwise store operators in certain regions of the world will not be able to comply with the copyright information correctly.

I would be very grateful if you could take another look at this.

    Best regards

    Hello,

Captions are based on titles of your photos and can be edited in Dashboard > Media. There is no option in this widget to place the caption under the widget. It requires customizations and this is beyond our limitations and support policy.

    Best Regards.
