Enable the Parent theme

The child theme is used for customization, so if you do not have some necessary customization there, it will not affect the site. Just enable the parent theme and remove the old child theme, it will not affect the site as the child theme is just the shell for customization which helps to preserve your custom codes after update of the theme.
