Google search issues on two sites

Hello –

Back in March I had opened a ticket about the Google Search results for one of my sites. Our site was showing on the first page of Google, but instead of descriptive text, following our name, it was pulling a “quote” we were using from a customer in the “testimonial” banner on the index page.

You told me to set up Yoast and that would help.

So, I set it up months ago, and it isn’t working!

The same site I asked about back in March, is still showing a quote from the Testimonial Banner, although it is a different quote.

I DO have the description of my site, set up correctly, so I don’t think this is a “Yoast issue” but rather a “theme issue.”

Basic functionality for the index page of the site is to pull the descriptive text, right? So how come the theme doesn’t do this?

When I search for my other website on Google, it is also pulling text from some part of your theme, and not from the description of the site. It is also pulling the word “Handmade” and putting it in my title, because I started the website using your “Handmade” theme!

Yoast has been loaded on that site as well, for a few months.

While I am happy that my websites are showing up on the first page of Google, having erroneous information, in my titles and descriptions, isn’t helping much.

Do you have a fix for this?
