Compatibility Issue with PHP 8.3 – Order Processing Error

    Greetings,

    We are experiencing an issue with our website after upgrading to PHP 8.3. When customers attempt to place an order, they receive the following error message:

    “There was an error processing your order. Please check for any charges in your payment method and review your order history before placing the order again.”

    This issue does not occur on PHP 7.4, but it persists on PHP 8.3. We have updated WordPress, WooCommerce, and all plugins to the latest versions.

    It seems to be a compatibility issue with PHP 8.3, could you please check if the theme is fully compatible with PHP 8.3 and provide any necessary updates or fixes?

    To better assist you, could you kindly test the functionality with default WordPress themes such as TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront? This will help us determine whether the issue stems from our theme or elsewhere.

    Thank you for your prompt response.

    We have tested the functionality using the default WordPress theme (TwentyTwenty), but the issue persists. Given that we have deactivated all non-theme plugins except WPML and the problem still occurs, we believe the issue may be related to one of the WooCommerce extensions provided by the theme.

    Could you confirm if there is an updated version of the extension available for download, or provide guidance on how we can proceed with troubleshooting?

    Our theme doesn’t have any extensions for the WooCommerce plugin. Most likely, you have some plugins installed that cause these problems and they are not related to our theme.

    I would like to inform you that, after further testing, the issue preventing checkout was related to the mail system. After switching to SMTP, everything appears to be working fine.
