Hello, I currently have parent cat, child cat, and a 3rd level sub category. Beyond that I use attributes to create product filters in the sidebar. I am having some issues setting up the layouts to have one sidebar show for the parent & child category and then another layout/sidebar to be shown for the 3rd level sub category. All filters added to sidebar beyond basic Product Categories is using the Woodmart Woocommerce Layered Nav widget for attribute filtering.

    EXAMPLE of issue:

I have a Parent Cat called Draft. This is using the global Shop Page Widget Area to show Product Categories listed by product order with checkbox only show children of the current category selected. (image 001)

I then have a “child” category nestled inside Draft and it is named Hosing & Tubing. This product archive also uses the global Shop Page Widget Area to display Product Categories with only children of current category selected. (image 002)

When I select to view one of these “children” product categories, ie. Hosing Accessories, I am now using a custom layout I created with a new sidebar/widget/layout named Hosing Accessories. (image 003 & 004)

This sidebar uses an attribute filter which shows an attribute I created to list different types of hosing accessory products (4 in total, example I will use is splicers). The layout conditions for this are set to INCLUDE Product term (category, tag, attribute) Hosing Accessories and EXCLUDE product attriburte Splicers (image 005)

The Splicers product archive has it’s own custom sidebar/widget/layout with 2 different attribute filters (SHAPE & MATERIAL) set up in the widget area of this custom sidebar. The layout conditions for this are set to INCLUDE Product term (category, tag, attribute) Splicers. (image 006)

However, when I am on the live site and select the Splicers attribute from the Hosing Accessories Product Archive, the hosing accessories sidebar continues to be visible and the splicers sidebar is not viewed. (image 007)

There are indeed products assigned to these categories and attributes (image 008) so it isn’t that issue. Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong here?

I have solved this on my own. The issue I was having in case others are looking for this topic lied in the Layout Conditions I was assigning. I needed to Include/Exclude – Filtered by Term – Splicers.
