Creating empty Child-Theme adds widgets in footer bar ?

    Hi Xtemos,

    I’ve created an empty child-theme for basel. When activating the theme,
    it completely messes up the widgets in the widget-areas. Widgets which
    where set up for certain areas disappear, others are move to different
    areas. When switching back to BASEL, everything is fine.

    Any idea what could cause this strange behavior?

    Hello,

    Yes, it is possible that widgets may be missed after theme switching. But this is WordPress behaviour and you will have to add your widgets again to right widget area after the switch to another theme and child theme is not an exception. Unfortunately, we can’t impact the situation in an our theme scope.
