attributes deleted – no sidebar shown. how to restore?

We did something wrong and we deleted two sets of attributes.
Now the sidebar in product categories is missing. Even if it is activated in the theme settings. How do we restore those attributes sets? (exact names and so on…)
To explain better the current situation:
filter by price, filter by size, filter by brand are activated in the widgets.
size attributes are activated, brand attributes are activated.
No sidebar is shown.
The shop page widget area is not showing.

You need to create set of attributes which you deleted and add the widgets in Appearance > Widgets > Shop page widget area.

They are there and even selected in the filtered layered navigation in the shop page area widget, but nothing is shown.
