DiegoParticipantHello Woodmart Support,
I hope you’re doing well.
We are using the Woodmart theme on our website and are facing persistent performance issues, particularly with the product filters, which are very slow to load and apply. This severely impacts the user experience.
Our current setup includes:
Hosting on WPEngine
Multiple caching plugins, including LiteSpeed Cache, NitroPack, and others
All images converted to WebP
A CDN is active
Other general performance optimization techniques have been applied
Despite all of these efforts, filter performance remains a major problem. Could you please advise on best practices or possible conflicts specific to the Woodmart theme that may be causing this issue? We’re open to debugging or configuration adjustments if needed.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.May 31, 2025 at 2:29 pm #664394
Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Our theme is optimized for speed and should not significantly slow down your website. However, it’s possible that your website’s performance is affected by the content you have added. For instance, the use of too many plugins, large unoptimized images, or other resources can slow down your website.
We recommend that you remove any unnecessary plugins and install a JS & CSS optimization plugin such as WP Rocket. Our guide on how to optimize your website using our themes can be found here: https://xtemos.com/wordpress-performance-optimization-the-ultimate-guide-in-2021/.
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best Regards,

DiegoParticipantHi Aizaz,
Thank you very much for your support. I’d like to share that we have carefully followed the optimization guide step by step.
We currently have NitroPack OneClick installed (as recommended by our hosting provider, WPEngine), and WPEngine’s CDN is active for our site. Additionally:
All images are in WebP format
We have implemented cache policies
Lazy load is enabled
We have removed render-blocking JavaScript resources
HTML normalization has been applied
For fonts, we’ve applied compression and minification
We appreciate your continued guidance and are open to any further suggestions you might have to enhance performance even more.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
After conducting a speed test on your website via PageSpeed, I recommend that you review the below suggestions:
https://ibb.co/6JWKwpSLMinimize main-thread work – I suggest using the Wp Rocket to fix it, more details are here: https://wp-rocket.me/google-core-web-vitals-wordpress/minimize-main-thread-work/
– Avoid an excessive DOM size – read these posts about DOM https://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/1412-avoid-an-excessive-dom-size
LCP(Largest Contentful Pain) message doesn’t mean that this particular element is loaded slowly. It just indicates which element is the Larger Contentful Paint.
Read more here https://developer.chrome.com/docs/lighthouse/performance/lighthouse-largest-contentful-paint/?utm_source=lighthouse&utm_medium=lr
-Reduce unused CSS – Enable CSS minify and combine it in your cache plugin: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-remove-unused-css-in-wordpress-the-right-way/
Reduce unused JavaScript – Use the WP Rocket to fix that, navigate to WP Rocket -> Settings -> File optimization -> enable Minify JavaScript files: https://prnt.sc/gRnGNFDeaCCN and additionally these options: https://prnt.sc/fCMisMjViraZ
-Properly size images – Optimize the images as it described in our article: https://xtemos.com/wordpress-performance-optimization-the-ultimate-guide-in-2021/#Step_3
Serve images in next-gen formats: Consider using a plugin or service that will automatically convert. Ensure text remains visible during webfont load uploaded images to the optimal formats e.g ‘Imagify’ from the Image Optimization tab in ‘WP Rocket’ to convert your images to WebP.
-Reduce JavaScript execution time – the WP Rocket can help with it, check this: https://wp-rocket.me/google-core-web-vitals-wordpress/reduce-javascript-execution-time/

DiegoParticipantI really appreciate the suggestions. If you had the chance to look at the images I shared, you’ll see we’ve already used an optimization tool. In fact, according to several opinions, Nitro is actually better than Rocket (https://www.authorityhacker.com/nitropack-vs-wp-rocket/).
Is there anything else you could recommend beyond what’s already been mentioned (we’ve already done all of that)? We truly appreciate any help you can give us. As I mentioned earlier, I can provide you with temporary access to the WP admin so you can check the configuration.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
WoodMart is fully compatible with WP Rocket. Most likely, you may have some configuration issues with the plugin itself.
We recommend you analyze your performance with online tools like Pingdom Website Speed Test, Google Pagespeed, GTmetrix, and Web Page Test. They will give you a lot of recommendations and tips regarding performance.

DiegoParticipantHi Aizaz, following your advice, we purchased a WP Rocket license along with its corresponding CDN. It’s already implemented on our site. We’re going to wait for the CDN and configurations to fully load in order to measure the changes. I’m attaching reference images, We also added the recommended plugin, Imaify.

DiegoParticipantHello, I’ve already made all the suggested adjustments—you can see them by visiting our website. However, we still feel that the user experience isn’t optimal. What else could we do?
The PageSpeed results are good, but access to the site still doesn’t feel very fast. It’s worth noting that the site doesn’t have organic caching yet, as it hasn’t been officially launched to the public.Attachments:

DiegoParticipantWe would specifically like to reduce the loading times of the theme filters, which are currently taking around 5 to 6 seconds.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
I have checked your page speed accessibility score, Please try the following. We recommend you analyze your performance and see the recommendations and tips regarding this:
Navigate to Dashboard -> Media and define the “alt” text for each image – https://prnt.sc/dezWmfxtZQRj
You can find the Viewport tab in the Theme Settings > Other; you need to scroll to the bottom of the settings: https://prnt.sc/N-Zibb47ilCh
Additionally, we cannot provide our dedicated support for complete site optimization because it is covered in web development. I already shared all the possible ways with you, but still if you are still not able to solve your site speed issues. You can hire a third-party developer for this. We at this platform provide dedicated Support related to Theme Options-related issues only.
Best Regards,
