gomexusParticipantVariation Swatches image for WooCommerce
Regarding variations displayed as graphics, my store has hundreds of products, each with different variations. I want each product to display variations as images. Is the only way to set a “color” attribute for each product, and then in Variable products -> Attribute swatches -> Grid swatch attribute to display, select “color”? Does this mean each variation needs a different attribute name set under “color”?Attachments:

gomexusParticipant因为有很多产品的变体不同并不是颜色,如果不设置color就需要单独一个个设置,这个工作量是庞大的

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
1. Enable the “Use images from product variations” in Theme Settings > Shop > Variable products: https://prnt.sc/SLKIoDeCW_F-
2. Define the image for the variation in the settings of the product – https://prnt.sc/nmOUHmnlVId0
3. Enable the “Text swatch” for the attributes – https://prnt.sc/-J5sJSTq4C3V
4. Navigate to Theme Settings > Shop > Variable products > set them as “Grid swatch attribute to display”: https://prnt.sc/YqWQY2EvNQ2j
When this option is enabled, the swatches will automatically use the images assigned to product variations: https://shrtlink.ai/0Up7

The problem is in the fourth step; can only one be set? Assuming it’s the color attribute, some products have a color attribute and can use Variation Swatches images normally. But what if some products don’t have a color attribute but still want to use Variation Swatches images? Should I create a unique product name within the color attribute?October 15, 2025 at 2:30 pm #691057
Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Yes, in the “Grid swatch attribute to display” option, you can select only one attribute (for example, Color) that will be used globally across your product grid.
If some of your products don’t have a Color attribute but you still want to display swatches for them, you’ll need to use a common attribute name for all products, for example, Color or Style. You can then assign the appropriate values (even if they represent something else, like size or design) under that same attribute.
This way, it will consistently detect and display swatches for all products that use this unified attribute.
Best Regards,
