Search box – results disappear

Hi support
I am having a problem on the site in that if a user types their username into the login box on the header, a previous results box appears (of previous logins), and if I move my cursor to this to select one, the login box closes.
Once I hover over login again, the result I selected is filled in, but this is not ideal.
Is there a way to prevent the login box from closing when selecting a previous login?

If I go to the site, hover on the header Login/Register, the login box appears.

If I then start typing an email address in the email/username box, previous options that have been filled in appear.

If I then change focus to select a previous email, the login box disappears.

Yes, this problem is because of the browser problem. When you move your mouse to that text, CSS hover is disabled and the form disappears. There is no way to fix this with CSS and JS. You can use a sidebar for my account form.
