Using the new popup option on top of promo popup

    Hello,

    I have been using the WP Post Popup in my Woodmart promo popup for customers to easily click and read our privacy policy. Then I figured out that since that plugin no longer is supported i should better use the new Woodmart popup.

    Problem is that when i click the link in promo popup where to open new popup with privacy policy nothing happens, but when i close promo popup then the privacy popup is showing up.

    I guess these 2 popups maybe using the same script? Is there eventually any work around for this behavior?

    It should open on top of promo popup and when closed promo popup should still be there.

    Hello,

    Yes, you can play around in my staging site in which i have added to the private area. Then in the upper right corner of frontend you will find a text link NYHETSBREV where you can open the promo popup. Then if you click the text link personvernerklæring just above input field you have activated popup but you will not see it before you close the promo popup.

    The personvernerklæring popup you will find in wp-admin under Popups with the name Personvern.

    Hmm, not sure how that should help, maybe you misunderstud my problem?

    The promo popup is the one built into Woodmart and when a customer visit site it will popup after visiting 2-3 pages and/or with a little delay. So customers does not click any buttons or link to open the promo popup.

    When the promo popup opens to the customer they will need to check the checkbox for accepting privacy policy. If they want to read the privacy policy they must click the “personvernerklæring” text link in promo popup. This link should open our privacy policy in a new popup named “Personvern” in popup settings. Problem is that this popup is queued and does not open before after the promo popup is closed.

    As with WP Post Popup plugin it was possible to stack multiple popups on top of each other. I have noticed that Woodmart popups works the opposite way, it queue new popups so they opens when you close the first one. That is mostly ok but not when a popup has a newsletter form and customer click to read privacy policy, then privacy policy can not be qued, it must opens on top of promo popup (newsletter popup)

    I have noticed that there is a special JS function for the mailchimp form. The response from mailchimp reloads the promo popup and displays the respons. So i think a similar solution for privacy policy popup. When customer click in promo popup to read the privacy policy then it closes promo popup and reloads it again when privacy policy popup is closed.

    I hope this better explains the problem.

    I have done a little test but afraid that will affect on all popups. I have added class .wd-popup-close as trigger to your custom promo popup so when customer clicks the button it opens privacy policy and when customer click to close privacy policy the close button X trigger your custom popup.

    Give it a try, but i think your custom popup will be triggered on whatever popup is closed. So might figure out how to isolate that.

    Ok, i was able to isolate the close trigger in your custom promo popup using this in triggers: .woodmart-custom-popup, .wd-mfp-popup-wrap-18069 .wd-popup-close

    Then i had to add a second privacy popup just for use with the promo popup, and this now seems to work as it should with promo popup and privacy policy.

    BUT, uses the close by ESC and close by Overlay any special triggers to close popup? If so i will need to apply also these close triggers into the above mentioned triggers in case users close the privacy policy popup by esc or overlay.

    Hi Rune,

    You are right: WoodMart popups work as a queue and only one can be active at a time. Opening a second popup on top of the promo popup is not supported.

    Your current workaround (closing the promo popup and immediately opening the privacy popup, then reopening the promo popup from the privacy popup’s close button) is the correct approach. However, there are no separate triggers you can use for ESC or overlay close to chain another popup. Only clickable selectors (like the close button) can be used as open triggers.
