iamkane1ParticipantAre PROJECTS unique to woodmart?
My site is ecommerce but mostly interviews with people and written article… I don’t want to use POSTS as these are more pages… I think.. But pages does not have categories… I am just wondering if I should use PROJECTS???
I need to have categories and (tags would be nice) for my website features… Would PROJECTS be best here for interviews, articles and that???

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Projects is a custom post type provided by the WoodMart theme. It is mainly designed for Portfolios, Case studies, Works, galleries and Visual showcase content
It includes categories, but it is theme-dependent. If you ever switch themes, the Projects post type may no longer be available.
Here is the Documentation: https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/portfolio/

iamkane1ParticipantHmm… I don’t plan on switching theme but you never know..
What if I wanted to do interviews and features… I feel POSTS (BLOG) would not be right??? As I don’t want it to look lioke a blog post, but more of a page…
What would you suggest? As PAGES do not have categoriea??

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
In WordPress, the design is not tied to the post type. For interviews and feature articles, the best option is Posts. Posts support categories and tags, which Pages do not, and their appearance can be fully customized.
Using the Layout Builder, you can create a Single Post layout that removes all blog-style elements (date, author, comments, sidebar) and makes posts look exactly like pages.
Projects are theme-dependent and mainly intended for portfolios, so they’re not ideal for editorial content.
Use Posts, style them like pages with a custom layout, and organize them using categories such as Interviews or Features.Best Regards,

iamkane1ParticipantHi.
OK that makes sense.
I ahve just created a layout post, i am happy with..
My understanding was when I press “NEW POST” in posts section, this layout would be the default??? How do I now attach this to the NEW POSTS???January 6, 2026 at 8:55 am #703264
Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Creating a Layout does not automatically apply it to new posts. To use that layout for posts, please do the following:
1. Navigate > Layouts
2. Set Layout Type = Single Post
3. In Conditions, choose Include > All Posts (or specific categories if needed) and . Save the layoutAfter this, all existing and new posts will automatically use this layout.
When you click New Post, you only add content—the layout is applied globally via the Layout Builder.Best Regards,

iamkane1ParticipantYes I have set ALL POSTS to use this…
When I ‘ADD POST’ it open fine, then when I press EDIT WITH ELEMENTOR it renames itself to this “Elementor #30002” which is no problem as i can rename but wonder why??
Also it doe snot work… see wrror here…

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
When you click “Edit with Elementor”, Elementor creates its own internal template, which is why the title temporarily changes to “Elementor #30002”. You can safely rename it afterward.
Regarding the content not found error, Can you please share the page URL. Also, share your Site WP-ADMIN Login details in the Private Content field so that we can check this concern on your Site and help you out accordingly.
Best Regards,
