ankit_jainParticipantI need help on the below matter.
I am creating a variable product. I liked the feature ‘Use images from product variations’.
So, the variable product I created has different colour variations. I enabled the Text Swatch for the ‘Color’ attribute to show the variable image on the product page. For this, I had to disable the Color swatch for that particular Color term.
Now on the product page, the user sees the image of the Product for the Color it selected.
Good till now.
But, now I cannot use this Color attribute in the FILTERs.
User will not be able to filter the product by selecting the color on the Product Archive (Shop) page. For e.g –
Product name ABC
has ‘Color’ variations – 1) Black 2) White
I enabled ‘Use images from product variations’ for Color attribute.
So, when user selects Black color, the product image will be seen instead of actual Black color.
But, the problem here is that I cannot show this Color attribute in the Filter on the Shop Page.
Such that when user selects Black color in the filter all the products with Black color should be shown on the Shop page, this cannot be done now with the ‘Use images from product variations’ enabled. Please recommend on this.
March 31, 2026 at 1:55 pm #714681Hello,
When you enable “Use images from product variations” and switch the Color attribute to a text swatch only, it only affects the product page display — but it does not remove the attribute from filtering itself.
Keep Color as a global product attribute (Products > Attributes) > Make sure it is still assigned to products and variations.
Use WoodMart WooCommerce Layered Nav widget under the “Shop page Widget area” and choose the color attribute: https://postimg.cc/7GzhCf9J

ankit_jainParticipantEarlier the Black or White color attribute had the actual black and white rgb color in the swatches.
But then I enabled the Text Swatch so that the Black or White color product should be displayed on the swatches on the product page. But, only enabling Text Swatch does not help, I also have to disable the color swatch only then I will see the Black/White color product in the color swatches. Now on the Filter panel, in the Color section, earlier I used to see the Black or White rgb color for users to select. Now instead in the filter I see the Black/White color product in the Ajax Filter which is of no use. Why will user want to see the product image in the Filter section. Instead it should see the Black color or White color. So that once it selects Black color (let’s say) in the filter then all the Black color products should be shown.I hope I was able to make you understand.
I have shared the screenshot of the filter.

ankit_jainParticipantI have responded to your ask.
Note – I had used one of the WoodMart prebuilt themes and converting the same to make my website which will sell electronic products like earphones, cables, chargers etc.
I hope my concern is clear.
I want to use Variable Product where the my product has different colors.
So, on product page it should see the Product Image but on FILTERs section on shop page it should see the actual color in RGB format.April 1, 2026 at 4:07 pm #714806Hello,
The behavior you’re seeing is expected in WoodMart. When you use image-based swatches the same attribute output is applied both on the Single product page and Filters area.
So if the swatch type is set to show images, it will also display product images in filters, instead of color (RGB). It is not possible to have different swatch types for product page and filters. Swatch type is global for that attribute.
Recommended solution:
To achieve your goal:Enable the “Use images from product variations” in Theme Settings > Shop > Variable products: https://postimg.cc/4K0cgmGy
Define the image for the variation in the settings of the product: https://postimg.cc/phYnnkj7
Enable the “Text swatch” for the attributes: https://postimg.cc/H8dXSFHw
Navigate to Theme Settings > Shop > Variable products > set them as “Grid swatch attribute to display”: https://postimg.cc/FfxThbRd
When this option is enabled, the swatches will automatically use the images assigned to product variations.

This is not possible in WoodMart by default. It requires customizations and this is beyond our limitations and support policy.
