Add description to shop (catalog) page

Could you please explain how to add an SEO description for a catalog page so that it only appears when entering the catalog, not the category? I know there’s a Gutenberg block—an archive description—but I don’t understand where this description comes from…

The Archive Description widget displays the description that is added in:
Products > Categories Edit Category > Description.
If you want to add SEO content only to the main Shop/Catalog page instead of category pages, try using the Theme’s Layout Builder. You can create custom layouts for WooCommerce pages such as Shop page and add the custom text block widget.
