    Hi,

I’m using the WoodMart theme on my WooCommerce store (https://truepurity.hu), together with the WooCommerce Photo Reviews Premium plugin (VillaTheme, v1.3.3) for photo reviews.

I’d like to stop using the WooCommerce Photo Reviews plugin, but when I deactivate it, the customer-uploaded review photos disappear from the product pages.

Could you please help me with:
    1. Does WoodMart have a built-in solution for photo/video reviews that could replace this plugin?
    2. Is there a way to migrate the existing customer review photos into WoodMart’s own review system (or the standard WordPress Media Library), so they aren’t lost when I deactivate the plugin?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hello,

Yes, WoodMart has a built-in review image feature that can replace the photo review functionality provided by the third-party plugin.

    You can enable it from:
Dashboard > Theme Settings > Single product > Reviews > Review images
WoodMart’s native review system allows customers to upload images with their product reviews. You can also configure the maximum number of images per review, maximum upload file size, make images required, and enable a filter to show reviews containing images.

    Please check this manual: https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/product-reviews/

    Best Regards

Thanks for the info. I did enable the native “Review images” option, but the photos that customers already uploaded through the WooCommerce Photo Reviews Premium plugin still don’t show up on the existing reviews – only new reviews would use the native uploader.

So my question is specifically about migration: is there a way to move/import the photos that are already attached to existing reviews (currently stored by the third-party plugin) into WoodMart’s native review-image system, so they display without that plugin?

For now I’ll keep the old plugin active so the existing review photos stay visible, and use WoodMart’s native feature for new reviews – but I’d like to fully migrate if possible. Thank you!

Update: I managed to solve this myself, sharing in case it helps others.

The old plugin (WooCommerce Photo Reviews Premium) stores its images as normal WordPress media attachments and keeps the attachment ID in a reviews-images comment meta field (serialized array). WoodMart’s native review images feature reads a different comment meta field, _woodmart_image_id, as a comma-separated list of attachment IDs.

Since the images were already proper media attachments, I only had to add one extra commentmeta row per existing review (copying the attachment ID from reviews-images into a new _woodmart_image_id entry). After that, the old photos display correctly through WoodMart’s native review images feature, and I was able to deactivate the third-party plugin without losing anything.

Thanks for your help and pointing me to the native feature – this can be closed now!
