    Hi,

    1. how can I erase the text in hover (here, number of products, which I think is useless). See attached

    2. image quality is poor. Blurred. How to improve it?

    3. how to erase the zoom effect of the hover? I don’t see its benefit, but see disadvantages (blurred image, useless on mobile, …)

    Kind regards

    Hello,

    1. You can change the text in the Theme Settings > Typography > Advanced Typography https://xtemos.com/docs/basel/advanced-typography-settings-2/

    2. Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Woocommerce > Product Image > set bigger size, and upoad bigger images.

    3. Upload bigger images.

    Best Regards

    Hello,

I made the changes on images …. ie made them bigger though after resized at 267×267 … but it works, my images are better. Weird but performing.

For the other 2: on your product categories grid (see image below), I want no zoom, no special effect, no text on image, no grey square arriving on image with the mouse … just the images with the category name below. Something super simple for both PC and mobiles.

    Sorry 🙁

    Hello,

There is no option to set no special effect, you can set “title center” design and image would not have any design, however, the category title would move on hover.

I have 2 benchmarks: Hermès and Asos. And they both do simples things.

Basically, I want a simple gallery, fast loading; cache-able. with images and captions (category title), and images linking to shop (category). Without all those special effects useless on mobile (hovers) as 60% of my visits are from mobiles. A galler y clean and simple like the one attached.

With your category gallery, I can’t. That’s your answer. OK.

with your image gallery, I can’t. Caption can only be in lightbox, what is useless on mobile.

With wpbakery image gallery, no possibility to have caption.
And with image 1 by 1, in rows and columns, captions are not customizable, and are ridiculously small.

If I design a gallery with captions via wpbakery, as you taught me, the loading time is crazy for users.

What do you propose to make a simple category gallery, like the one attached?

Also, look at this page … I did images 1 by 1 … it’s not normal.

    Hello,

Try to create a grid from rows and columns then insert a Single image from WP Bakery page builder. You will get the image with no effects, option to insert link and option to shop the cation http://prntscr.com/llwywz

    Hello,

Well, you will have to make the choice more heavy slider or simple image + custom heading or automatic caption.

    Hello,
could you please give me your insights about this review? Is it fair? because I want it to be fair.

As we all can see, the theme is wonderful to design very beautiful pages. And the team delivers an excellent service.
But if you are a seller, like me, wanting 1/ to increase the chances to have good bounce rate and good conversion rate, 2/ considering that mobile is very important (60% of my visits), and 3/ inspired by the ultra simple executions of the best in class (Hermès, Etsy, Asos, etc.)
then, you can be very disappointed for the following reasons:

    * Mobile pagespeed is not good.
    – now, for pc, speed is very rarely an issue. But for mobiles ….
    – though I do have html/2, brotli, all images very optimized, wp rocket, my speed is not good, even on pages without image.

    * Very tough if not impossible to do simple but efficient things.
I want a simple photo gallery of my categories, linking to shop page on click, just with name below, cache-able …. no solution after many days of discussion.
Basically, you can’t make a simple responsive photo gallery with caption.
On the reverse, you can have plenty of effects which are useless or painful or too heavier for mobiles (eg hover)

    * as of now, the theme is not well designed for mobile. 2 examples:
    – if you make a gallery of 2 rows of 4 photos, it spontaneously becomes a column of 8 big photos. Hardly nice for user even on an old iphone 5.
    – fonts are not responsive … so, have to choose between too big on PC … or too big on mobile.

    * Missing the important elements to improve the relationship with your own customers.
if there are many options to make your woo shop windows attractive, you miss basic but important things for your own customers …. an “ask me question” on item page, a rather nice checkout page with the photos of the items, an appealing wish list, a nice email form to thank for / confirm order, …. hopefully designed with the theme for sake of consistency.

    Hello,

    Mobile pagespeed is not good.
We already discussed this question a lot with you and as you can see, it is not our theme problem but your general website problem. No matter what theme you will install, the score will be low. We can continue the conversation on that topic to try to increase this “number”. But in fact, our them is perfectly optimized and there is no any problem on mobile devices.

if you make a gallery of 2 rows of 4 photos, it spontaneously becomes a column of 8 big photos. Hardly nice for user even on an old iphone 5.
Could you please provide an example of this problem?

fonts are not responsive … so, have to choose between too big on PC … or too big on mobile.
You can easily change any font size on mobile devices. What fonts do you mean?

Missing the important elements to improve the relationship with your own customers.
But why do you think that these features should be a part of our theme? You was able to read our theme features list before the purchase. It is not possible to have all these features in on theme and make it work fast. You can try any other top seller WooCommerce theme and you will see that no one have such a list of functions and our Basel is the most advanced of them.

But anyway, if you want to change the theme, we can return your money back and it is not a problem for us.

And it is our “fair response”.

    Kind Regards

    Hello Artem,

I was hoping for a more positive reply.

About mobile pagespeed: I am not an expert. I just see that, when I test a page with your theme without any image (on my website or your demo), the score is bad. That’s fact, not opinion. Would other themes perform better? I don’t know.

Gallery 1: when I use basel galleries with 2 or ore images per row, they become 1 image per row on mobile view. It’s modify-able via css corrections but not natively good for mobile users, right? It’s not the case of shop, about talking about theme galleries.

Gallery 2: trying to make my simple gallery (categories with caption below image & link to category in shop) with wpbakery …. looked at videos to learn … new deadend; the font used by theme is not on wpbakery

Fonts: when the screen size diminishes, or increases, the font size remain the same.

Other features: you are right; though it would be better if the theme was providing nice features for the customers of your clients. Just matter of thought for you. Don’t blame me, it’s just my opinion.

Sorry, to be so ignorant 🙁 but I never imagined that make a website here would be so tough …
Factually, for an ignorant, your doc does not help … it’s copy / paste of menus, mainly… does not explain what does what … it’s really tough, sorry
