When you add images to the gallery on the product page you can seе horizontal and vertical position of thumbnails http://prntscr.com/jxjm88 You will find this option in Theme Settings > Product page.

In addition, you can set vertical or horizontal thumbnail position for each product individually.

Slider thumbnails is available in vertical and horizontal, upload more images to enable it.
