    Hello,
we’re experiencing an issue with the “products per page” functionality.

In the WoodMart theme settings, (Theme settings-Product archive-Product grids and under Pages-Products per page variations) we added an additional option “48 products per page” alongside the default options (9, 12, 18, 24).

    What works
    • The default values (9 / 12 / 18 / 24) appear normally on all standard product archive pages.
    • Selecting any of these values works correctly on all archive pages.

    What doesn’t work
    1. The new “48 products” option does NOT appear anywhere on the product archive pages, even though it was added correctly in Theme Settings.
    2. It DOES appear on the search results page, but:
    • The search results page is not respecting the selected number of products per page.
    • Regardless of whether we choose 9, 12, 18, 24, or 48, the search results page always shows a fixed number of items (5 on page 1, 8 on page 2 and all others).

    Summary
    • The “48 products per page” option appears only on the search results page, where the filter does not work at all.
    • On product archive pages — where the filter work — the “48” option is missing entirely.
    • This inconsistency is causing problems, and we have tried multiple times to resolve it without success.

    Could you please advise why:
    1. the “48 products” option does not appear on product archive pages, and
    2. the search results page is not respecting the selected “products per page” value?

Please have a look at the attached images as well.

This inconsistency is quite concerning, especially since we have been asked several times to enable this feature and have tried multiple times to resolve it without success.
We would greatly appreciate your assistance in investigating this issue and helping us making these to work as they should.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello,

Please try to update the new version of the theme “WOODMART WordPress NEW: 8.3.4 RELEASED”, update the required plugin, and check the issue: https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/update-the-theme/

If the issue remains, turn off all of the plugins not related to the theme, clear your site cache/ server cache, and check if the problem persists.

    Hi again,

upon investigating myself, I found that in the Products Archive template, I had to manually enter the 48 option in the Products per page widget itself in order to work. So now that is working.

The problem is remaining on the Search Results template.
Now I have made an Elementor Search Results template in order to have a descent Search Results page.
The problem is that the Woodmart elements seem that do not work properly on this template.

Setting a Search Results template within Layouts of WoodMart and setting it have a condition for “Shop Search Results” has no effect, and the search results page that is showing is a generic one which is definitely not something we want to have.

I know there is quite some info regarding the Search Results template other that the basic one, but all info are quite confusedly.

I am seeing in your other premade websites on your website, for example this one:
    https://woodmart.xtemos.com/christmas-2/?s=tree&post_type=product

the search is absolutely what I need. With all elements that I want, the filters and all.

But I cannot find any way to implement it.

    Please, can you help?

    Hello,

Now I see you are using the Elementor Pro search results page, that’s why the theme layout is not working.

    See this screenshot: https://postimg.cc/56fJLKtk

If you want the search result page like this: https://woodmart.xtemos.com/christmas-2/?s=tree&post_type=product

This demo you shared, “Christmas2” is using a custom layout for product archive pages, you can use our theme layout for search result pages and make like this: https://postimg.cc/dDpHKLb2

Hi there, and thank you for your help.

Regarding the product archive pages: I already have a “Products Archive” template set up in → Layouts, with the display condition set to Products Archive.

You can check the screenshots I am sharing, showing what that template. (From above you will see I have the deactivated “Product Search Results” because it was not working as described)

This is the layout users see, for example, at:
    https://mosaikstores.com/product-category/epochiaka/christougenniatika/

    My question is:
Does this mean I can remove the custom Elementor Search Results page I created and instead use the same “Products Archive” template to power the search results page as well?

If that’s not the correct approach and how I understand this that you say, I’d really appreciate a step-by-step guide on how to set this up properly.

Again, thank you so much for this and I hope we are going to fix this.

    Warm regards,
    George

    Hello,

I suggest using the Woodmart theme layout builder for this.

Please delete or deactivate your Elementor Search Results template, and let the Woodmart Product Archive layout control the search results page.

However, if you want a separate layout specifically for search results—like the demo you shared—you will need to create a new layout for the search results page inside the Woodmart Layout Builder.

If you set it up and it still doesn’t work, let me know and I will check further on your site.

Hi, I just tested everything you suggested, but unfortunately it didn’t work.

    Here’s exactly what I did:
    1. I set the Elementor Search Results template to Draft so it becomes inactive.
    2. I kept only the Products Archive template in the Woodmart Layout Builder active — but there was no change.
    3. I even added an additional condition to the Products Archive template to force it to apply to Shop search results as well, just in case that would solve it — still no success.

I’ve now removed that extra condition, since it didn’t help.

In every scenario, the same default, ugly search results page keeps appearing.
You can see it in the attached screenshot.

Since we cannot leave the store with that search layout, I restored the Elementor Search Results template so at least the results are somewhat consistent with the rest of the website.

And yes, I do want a separate, dedicated layout specifically for search results, exactly like the demo I shared. That’s the design and structure I would love Shop results page.

Feel free to take a deeper look.

Thanks again for your effort so far!

    Warmest regards,

    Hello,

Please deactivate all the 3rd party plugins and activate only theme-required plugins on the site, and then check the issue. I am sure your issue will be solved. Then activate the 3rd party plugins one by one and check which plugin is creating the issue for you.

Otherwise, if the issue still exists, then keep the 3rd party plugins deactivated and let me know I will further check on your site and give you a possible solution. Also switch the child theme to parent theme and check the issue.

Hello, and thank you for this.
To do the above you described I will need some time since that I will have to check this on down time or on a staging environment in order not to mess with the website while it’s live.

Except if you have some other recommendation on how to do those.

    Warm regards,

    #696410

    Hello,

That’s totally fine — it’s always best to test changes on a staging site to avoid affecting the live website.

Please follow this guide and set up the staging site.
    https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/

Once the staging site is ready, please share the WP login details of the staging site so I can further check on your staging site and troubleshoot the issue.

Also, are there any known plugins that you know that they cause conflicts with the WoodMart theme?

    #696502

    Hello,

Please keep all plugins that are not related to our theme temporarily turned off.

es, but this is the archive product page.

But the main problem is the Shop Search results page as we have already discussed!

Can you please check the conversation we had?

    Kind regards

Okay, I think I understand what’s happening now. Thank you for sharing the full-page screenshot, because I wasn’t able to reproduce the same search results page on my side before. It was likely a caching issue, but at this point I can now see the correct search results page.

I am currently testing on the staging environment, with all plugins deactivated and then reactivating them one by one, and the problem is becoming clearer.

Please give me a bit of time to double-check everything and review a few more points. I want to provide more accurate insights and hopefully contribute something useful to Woodmart’s knowledge base regarding this issue.

Thank you again for all your help so far.

    Warm regards.

I believe I have identified the issue that is causing the search results page to break and not display as expected.

After thorough testing, I disabled all plugins and kept only the standard Elementor plugin active. In this setup, the search results page displays correctly, exactly as shown in your full-page screenshot and exactly as intended.

By reactivating the plugins one by one, I found that the issue appears the moment Elementor Pro is activated. As soon as Elementor Pro is enabled, the search results page immediately breaks. When Elementor Pro is disabled, the search results page returns to the correct layout. I also tested different plugin combinations, and the result is consistent. With only Elementor and Elementor Pro active, the page still breaks.

This was unexpected and quite surprising, especially since Elementor Pro is a core plugin and essential for the site. Given that Woodmart is built to work seamlessly with Elementor, one would not expect such a conflict.

At this point, everything indicates, with high certainty, that Elementor Pro is triggering the issue or creating a conflict with Woodmart’s search results template.

I kindly ask you to run the same test on your end. Please try activating all plugins except Elementor Pro and check the search results page. You should see that it displays correctly. Then, activate Elementor Pro and observe the issue.

I am looking forward to your findings, and I appreciate your help in confirming this. Please let me know once you have had the chance to check it.

    Hello,

I have checked your website and can confirm that the Elementor Pro plugin is active, and the search functionality is working correctly.

Check back your site and check the issue after completely clearing the cache. If the issue remains, Could you please record a short video and describe how we can reproduce the issue so we can check this for you?

Hello, and thank you for this. I have tried to again view the search results page with all plugins activated, and still getting the ugly search results page. I have recorded a video showcasing all the steps I took. Below is the sequence- you will be able to see in the video.

    The following sequence first:

Check the search results page as you proposed in your last message, and I still get the ugly and not desired search results page. I then cleared the cache and am still getting the not desired search results page.

Then, I deactivated only the Elementor Pro plugin and am now getting the search results page I want.
As you will be able to see as soon as I deactivated Elementor Pro, with all other plugins available being activated, the search results page is what we need.

You can see all this in the video attached. Please have a look and let me know your thoughts.

Here is the video because the file limit here is very low.

    Hello,

Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress themes like WooCommerce Storefront to understand if it is our theme issue or not?

Hello, can you please explain what I should do?
Just install a different theme activate it an check the search functionality to see the search results page?

Furthermore, is the WooCommerce Storefront ok with Elementor?

    Best Regards

    #698307

    Hello,

Yes, exactly. The idea is to check whether the issue comes from our theme or Elementor Pro itself. Here’s what you can do safely without affecting your current site:

    1. Install a default WordPress theme, like WooCommerce Storefront, and activate it.

    2. Keep Elementor and Elementor Pro active, then check the search results page.

    • If the search results display correctly with Storefront, then the issue is likely caused by a conflict between our theme and Elementor Pro.
    • If the search results are still showing wrong results, then it may be an Elementor Pro issue.

    Hi,

below is the video I recorded showing the Storefront theme activated and doing a search with Elementor Pro activated and then without Elementor Pro Activated.

Please have a look and let me know what we should do.

    #698565

    Hello,

Since in your video, the same issue happens even with the Storefront theme, this confirms that the problem is not related to WoodMart.

Elementor Pro is forcing the search results to use the blog/posts layout, instead of the WooCommerce product results layout.

This means the issue is coming directly from Elementor Pro’s Search Results template or settings, in this case, you may need to contact Elementor Pro support directly.

    Hello,
thank you, I understand this part.

There is one more thing I noticed, and it seems related to the URL structure.

When Elementor Pro is deactivated and I perform a search, the URL on the search results page is:
    https://test.mosaikstores.com/?s=Γραφείο&post_type=product

When Elementor Pro is activated, the URL becomes:
    https://test.mosaikstores.com/?s=Γραφείο&post_type=Προϊόν

The word Προϊόν is simply the Greek translation of product.

Now here is the interesting part:

With Elementor Pro activated, if I perform a search and the URL shows “post_type=Προϊόν”, I get the incorrect search results page.
If I manually replace Προϊόν with product in the URL and press enter, the correct search results page loads, even with Elementor Pro activated.

You can test this yourself if you would like.

Does this detail point you toward anything?
If you have any idea what might be causing this behavior, please let me know.

    Warm regards.

    #698744

    Hello,

Based on your findings, the issue becomes clearer:

Elementor Pro is replacing the default WooCommerce post_type=product parameter with the translated version post_type=Προϊόν. However, WooCommerce does not recognize translated post type slugs.

This confirms the issue is caused by Elementor Pro. Since replacing “Προϊόν” with “product” fixes the issue, Elementor Pro support will immediately understand the problem when you explain it to them

    Best Regards,
